Welcome to St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Matamata

From our Minister...

Yes you've found us. Welcome to our place on the information highway.

As a Presbyterian congregation we are part of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. That gives us the rich heritage of a Church that recognises Jesus Christ as its Lord and Head. We are a Bible-based Church; the supreme rule of faith and life and the supreme standard of the Church is the Word of God contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

Being Presbyterian means also that we enjoy a tremendous freedom to adapt our worship and witness to honour the Lord and connect with our community in ways that are relevant in our changing times.

We are a Church that acknowledges the cross of Jesus Christ as God's way of dealing with our sin. We are learning now what it means to live with a resurrection mindset.

We're a family Church that seeks to make a place for people of every generation. This brings its challenges because we can all be so different. We began a trial in February 2014 offering two Sunday morning services to help cater for a range of worship. We have a "Classic" service in our Church building beginning at 9am, and a "Cafe" service in our Church Hall at 10:30am.

We are not a perfect Church, but we are precious to the Lord, and our faith in Him matters.

Church is about being with real people so maybe the next best step for you is to visit us at one of our two main services. We'd love to meet you.
