You are checking out our St Andrew's website and I do hope this means you may choose to come to one of our services. You will certainly be warmly welcomed!
We have two Sunday morning services – a 9.00am classic service in our beautiful church and a 10.30am cafe-style service in our hall next door. Morning tea is sandwiched in between and offers the opportunity for people of all ages to mix and mingle in a friendly, family atmosphere.
Classic Service - 9.00am in the Church
The 9am service tends more towards traditional worship and the style of our church building with its timber pews lends itself well to this. Worshippers enjoy a variety of well-loved hymns, as well as being led by our music teams in songs of praise.
Listening to The Word and spending time in prayer is an integral part of this service.
Rev Murray Lambert’s children’s talk is a highlight (for big kids too!) and, during the sermon, youngsters enjoy the activities’ table in a space at the front of the pews near a convenient exit. This means children enjoy learning about The Lord in an active way, with a Kids’ Church leader available to facilitate, while parents, grandparents or caregivers listen to the sermon.
Shared morning tea at 10.00am, all welcome
Cafe Service - 10.30am in the Hall
The 10.30am cafe-style service certainly opens with a beat – and a catchy one at that – as contemporary praise-filled song, led by an enthusiastic music team, resounds through the hall. It is also a service where the children will accompany the music team on a variety of instruments such as tambourines and maracas!
While this service attracts many younger folk and families, often moving in a Holy Spirit-led emergent design, it also appeals to worshippers of all ages who enjoy freedom of expression when it comes to praising their Lord.
This service is where one may be led to give a testimony; or be treated to spontaneous prayer ministry.
Kids’ Church is held during this service, the leaders working in the nearby classrooms to a carefully-planned curriculum, while the Rev Murray Lambert delivers his message.
The cafe-style environment encourages intimacy in worship and is proving a hit with those who attend this service.
An intimate and friendly gathering in the Church Lounge, followed by morning tea and fellowship.
